You're reading: Russia reports 5,462 new COVID-19 cases, 95 deaths

MOSCOW – The daily growth of new COVID-19 cases in Russia reached 5,462 and 95 patients died over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a bulletin released on August 1.

“Over the past day, 5,462 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in 83 regions of Russia, including 1,356 (24.8%) cases, which were detected proactively without any symptoms,” the bulletin said.

A total of 648 new cases were detected in Moscow.

The cumulative number of coronavirus cases in Russia has reached 845,443; 14,058 people have died and 646,524 have been discharged from hospitals, including 8,114 over the past 24 hours. Thus, the total number of active cases in the country (the total number of cases minus all recoveries and all deaths) now reaches 184,861.

A total of 690 new cases of coronavirus, 13 deaths and 1,413 recoveries were recorded in Moscow over the past 24 hours, the headquarters said.
