U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillers pointed out the need of implementing the Minsk Agreements on Ukraine during negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the U.S. Department of State said in a press release following the meeting.

“On Ukraine, Secretary Tillerson stressed the need for progress toward full implementation of the Minsk agreements,” the press release said.

The issue of lifting the anti-Russian sanctions is not relevant so far, the U.S. Department of State said. “Sanctions on Russia will remain in place until Moscow reverses the actions that triggered them,” the press release said.
