Crimean resident and Kremlin political prisoner Volodymyr Balukh in court. In retaliation for his pro-Ukraine stance, Balukh was arrested in December 2017 for alleged storing of ammunition.

Nearly 200 people are currently being held as political prisoners in Russia, the Memorial Human Rights Center has estimated.
