The U.S. Department of Commerce on Dec. 27 added 23 companies from Russia and Crimea to the U.S. sanctions list, according to the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

“The United States continues to build up pressure on Russia with new sanctions for its violation of international law and fueling the conflict in eastern Ukraine. 15 Russian arms sector entities as well as 8 entities illegally operating in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea are under strengthened US sanctions,” reads a report published on the Facebook page of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.

As reported, on Dec. 23, the U.S. Department of Commerce expanded its sanctions list by 23 Russian companies. The list in particular includes several subsidiaries of Almaz-Antey concern, as well as several Crimean companies. The official information on this matter is expected to be published in the U.S. Federal Register on Dec. 27.
