Several foreigners were injured in fighting with unidentified people in central Kyiv on the evening of Dec. 5. Police are investigating.

Kyiv police received eight reports from doctors between 20:00 to 24:00 local time about foreigners seeking medical assistance, the police’s media liaison office has reported.

Investigators interviewed each of the victims with the help of a translator.

“Men aged between 21-37 explained that they had been injured during fighting with unidentified people on Kyiv streets – Khreschatyk, Instytutska, Baseina, and Velyka Vasylkivska. The patients had body bruises, some of them suffered fractured bones. All the victims refused hospitalization and signed official statements. Later, they left the hospital,” the police said.

What is more, two men, aged 49 and 28, reported to Kyiv’s Pechersky police station that their cell phones were missing after a short conflict with unknown assailants.

Currently, all reports are being verified, after which the legal qualification of the events will be determined.
