Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has auctioned for charity an excursion around the Ukrainian capital Kyiv for $50,000.

The tour was one of the lots up for grabs at a charity evening billed as a ‘Night of Champions’ in Las Vegas. It was organized by the World Boxing Council (WBC), one of four major organizations which sanction world championship boxing matches.

The WBC was collecting money for the rehabilitation of injured athletes.

World-class former boxers like Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and Oscar De La Hoya attended the charity event alongside Klitschko, a former heavyweight champion boxer himself.

Klitschko praised the WBC for organizing the event, saying that those who have succeeded need to help others.

“I was happy to participate in the event and to promote Kyiv and Ukraine one more time,” he said. “The tour of our wonderful city ‘went’ for $50,000.”

It is unknown who purchased the tour and it’s unclear if the tour will be given to this person by Klitschko himself.

In a video on Facebook, Klitschko also pointed out that the WBC has redesigned its logo, placing the Ukrainian flag among the banners of other nations with famous boxing champions.
