You're reading: Shakhtar signs Nigerian striker on loan from Manchester City

FC Shakhtar Donetsk has signed a loan agreement with Nigerian striker of England’s Manchester City Olarenwaju Kayode.

According to the club’s official website, the agreement will be effective until the end of the 2017/18 season and includes the buyout option.

The 24-year-old Kayode began his career in 2010 in Ivorian football club ASEC Mimosas. He played for Israel’s Maccabi Netanya in 2013-2015 and for Austria Wien in 2015-2017. He scored 30 goals for the Vienna club.

In August 2017, Kayode signed a four-year contract with Manchester City. He spent the first half of this season on loan at Spain’s Girona and played 12 matches in the Spanish championship.

In March 2017, he made his debut for the Nigerian national football team in a friendly match.
