Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed on Oct. 16 that the deal between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko for their world heavyweight title fight “has been agreed” but the two camps were being “meticulous” in securing as many vacant belts for the bout, which has been scheduled for the Manchester on Dec. 10.

The £30 million showdown is to be formally announced this week, and will include a rematch clause, with Joshua’s International Boxing Federation crown, the lesser International Boxing Organisation title, and potentially the World Boxing Association belt – over which the two teams are still negotiating with the sanctioning body – the growing spoils for a contest in which the protagonists will share an estimated £15 million purse.
