Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Gvozdyk has successfully defended his North American Boxing Federation light heavyweight title, defeating U.S. challenger Craig Baker.

Gvozdyk, 30, knocked out Baker, 33, in the sixth round.

The fight took place at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, in the United States on Aug. 20.

After five largely even rounds, Gvozdyk stunned Baker with a powerful right in the second minute of the sixth round, and then knocked him down a few minutes later.

Although Baker got up, Gvozdyk was soon back on the attack again. After several unanswered punches, match referee Celestino Ruiz stopped the fight and announced a technical knockout.

Gvozdyk first won the title on April 9, 2016 in a title fight with French boxer Nadjib Mohammedi. Since then, the Ukrainian had defended the NABF light heavyweight championship four times.
