Ukrainian-Russian businessman Pavel Fuks has decided at the expense of his own funds to finance the payment of additional $50,000 in prize money for Olympic gold, $25,000 for silver, and $15,000 for bronze.

“According to the previously announced motivation program for athletes, who represent Ukraine in Pyeongchang, Oleksandr Abramenko and his trainer Enver Ablaev will receive $50,000 each from me. I am proud of the whole Ukraine!” he wrote on Telegram.

Earlier Fuks announced the intention to pay an additional fee to Ukrainian prize winners of the Olympics in Pyeongchang in the amount of $50,000 for gold, $25,000 for silver, and $15,000 for bronze medals to each, as well as the corresponding amount to the coaches of the winners.

As reported, in 2016 Chairman of the Board of Directors of MCG Pavel Fuks ranked 24th in the ranking of the richest Ukrainians, compiled by the Focus magazine. His wealth is estimated at $270 million.

Fuks in 2017 tried to buy a stake in Prominvestbank, in early 2018 he acquired Ukrrosleasing, which previously seized by court action Hr 1.96 billion from Kyiv Metropoliten for the supply of 100 wagons in 2010-2013.
