On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the victory of the football club “Dynamo” (Kyiv) in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and the UEFA Super Cup of the 1974/1975 season, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with prominent players of the club.
The President stressed the importance of the victory the footballers gained 45 years ago, the presidential press service reported.
“Raising the image of Ukraine both in the country and abroad – which is really lacking today – is possible only through such legendary victories,” Zelensky said.
The Head of State thanked Dynamo veterans who won the UEFA Super Cup in 1975 under the leadership of Valeriy Lobanovsky. “Ukraine has never had such a great victory,” the President said.
Zelensky presented state awards to the prominent players of the football club. “The most important thing is what you did 45 years ago. This is a great reward,” he said.
