You're reading: Sony films ad for PlayStation 4 in Kyiv

Some of the most popular video game characters rushed through the streets of Ukraine’s capital, asking locals to play with them.

At least that’s what has happened in a new PlayStation 4 advertisement published on Nov. 4 by Sony, the Japanese electronics and gaming conglomerate.

Sony posted the video shot in Kyiv on its YouTube channel.

The clip shows PlayStation characters from games like God of War, Fortnite, Crash Bandicoot, Overwatch, Uncharted and so on. They move through Kyiv locations like the Sportyvna Square near the Palats Sportu metro station, the parking lot near the Ukraïna Mall and a street near the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The Japanese company produced the ad with help from Ukrainian production studio Radioaktive Film, which is based in Kyiv and is famous for earlier collaborations with HBO (for the miniseries Chernobyl), Universal Pictures, Apple and other heavyweights.

Radioaktive Film usually shoots feature films, TV shows, commercials, documentaries, viral videos and photos. The ad for Sony was shot in Kyiv back in August.

To shoot the final scene, Radioaktive Film involved 300 extras and 23 stunt people and reportedly crashed 20 cars.
