You're reading: Poll: Tymoshenko has highest presidential rating in Ukraine

Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Ukrainian party Batkivschyna, would garner the largest number of votes if presidential elections were held next Sunday, and incumbent President Petro Poroshenko would come in second, the Social Monitoring Center and the Oleksandr Yaremenko Ukrainian Institute of Social Studies said in reporting the findings of a public opinion poll.

In particular, 11.2% of those polled would vote for Tymoshenko, 9.5% for Poroshenko, 7.3% for Opposition Bloc leader Yuriy Boiko and For Life party leader Vadym Rabinovych each, 6.7% for Radical Party leader Oleh Lyashko, and 5.1% for Civic Position party leader Anatoliy Hrytsenko.

Another 18% are still undecided, 4% would vote for another politician, and 17.8% would not go to polling stations.

The Social Monitoring Center and the Oleksandr Yaremenko Ukrainian Institute of Social Studies conducted the poll of 2,030 respondents on July 20-29, 2017 together with the Kyiv Press Club, the Institute of Analysis and Forecasting, and the section for monitoring socioeconomic transformations at the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences.
