Germany will provide up to 100 million euros to the Energy Efficiency Fund, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said today at the events devoted to the signing of the bill on the Energy Efficiency Fund of Ukraine.

“Now using the energy consumption and energy saving fund mechanism our partners from Germany are providing up to 100 million euros – this is Hr 3 billion. The International Finance Corporation will conduct an audit. It will be a member of the supervisory board of the fund jointly with recognized authorities to ensure the effective use of each cent of budget funds,” Poroshenko said on Thursday in Kyiv during the events devoted to the signing of the bill on the Energy Efficiency Fund.

At the events he also said that he considers it necessary to verify subsidies.

According to him, the Energy Efficiency Fund should ensure transparency in the use of funds allocated from the budget for subsidies to the population.

The president also specified that Hr 61 billion was provided to cover subsidies by the state budget.
