You're reading: 10 soldiers injured in car explosion in eastern Ukraine

In Avdiyivka, Donetsk region, a car of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has blown up, 10 servicemen have been injured. An investigation has been launched on the fact, the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Donetsk region reported on Facebook.

“A pretrial investigation found that at about 9:30 a.m. on June 9, 2020, during the travelling of military vehicle in the area of the Palace of Culture of Avdiyivsky Coke and Chemical Plant, the last Spartan car in the convoy was blown up on an unidentified explosive device,” the report said.

As a result of the explosion, 10 servicemen received mine explosive injuries. The victims received medical assistance.

The incident is qualified under Part 2 of Article 258 (terrorist act) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pretrial investigation is ongoing.
