Russia violated international law by annexing Crimea. This is stated in a document published on the website of the Government of Canada.
“Canada reaffirms its continued commitment to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemns the actions taken by Russia to forcibly integrate the Crimean Peninsula into Russia, including through the opening in May 2018 of a bridge across the Kerch Strait,” the statement said.
