Olena Zaitseva, the driver who caused the road accident in Kharkiv in October 2017 ran the red light; this is confirmed by the video record from surveillance cameras, set on the crime scene. Prosecutor Ihor Omelchenko said this as Kyiv district court in Kharkiv (northeastern Ukraine) held another session in the high-profile case.
‘The video record proved that both defendants in the case, Olena Zaitseva and Hennadiy Dronov, violated the road traffic. Both had an opportunity to see each other and avoid the collision. The record shows that Zaitseva began to move when the red light was on; Dronov started to move when it was yellow’, Omelchenko said.
