Iryna Gerashchenko, First Vice-Speaker of Ukraine’s Parliament, wrote on Facebook that Sentsov does not have to ask for pardon personally – it is not an obligatory condition.
“Savchenko did not ask for pardon! Cynicism, but the relatives of Russian journalists murdered in Donbas asked to pardon her, complete strangers. And it worked because it was the Kremlin’s scenario. The absence of a personal petition did not keep Putin from pardoning her,” Gerashchenko reminded.
