A suicide attempt took place in Kyiv on August 17. A man who stays at Khreshchatyk hotel climbed outside the window of his suite on the second floor and stood on a moulding, threatening to throw himself out. He called himself Timur Kyrylov and said he spent ‘half of his lifetime in Canada’, demanding a meeting with a Russian consul.
