112.ua: Ukraine fines Russian airlines for over $193 million

The airline cancelled flights over the last days, with some 200,000 passengers were affected. The head of Russia's civil aviation agency, Alexander Neradko, said that Vim-Avia has debts of around 7 billion rubles ($120 million).

The State Aviation Service of Ukraine since 2015 imposed over 193 million dollars of fines on more than 40 Russian airlines that flew to the annexed Crimea. This was stated by the State Aviation Service of Ukraine in the commentary to UNIAN agency.

“Companies-violators are subject to financial sanctions for violations in the field of civil aviation regarding breaching the rules and procedures of use of Ukraine’s airspace in the form of fines for each violation in the amount of 5,273 dollars,” the State Aviation Service said.
