Ukraine is marking the Day of Tankman today, on September 9. The Day of Tankman was established by the decree of the Ukrainian President from August 29, 1997.
The establishment was made in the support of the initiative of the tank forces veterans and tank builders of Ukraine, considering the war honors of the tankmen during the World War II, and for the purpose of training the soldiers-tankers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the best traditions of previous generations.
