The sentence of the first instance of a court on the state treason case of former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych is expected at the end of May. Yevhen Yenin, the Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine claimed this as Hromadske reported.

‘The criminal process within this proceeding takes its final stage and it is possible to expect the sentence of the court’s first instance within a month. Certainly, the mentioned criminal process is extremely important. And it is not only the restoring of the justice but also the warning for the current and future heads of Ukraine regardless of their level that all people are equal in front of the law in Ukraine and the most senior officials of our state can be brought to the responsibility’, he said.
