U.S. Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker claimed that the US does not support the idea of the holding of any kind of the referendums in occupied Donbas as it will not be legitimate as he claimed to 112 Ukraine.
“The White House has already commented this: it rejected the offer. In the terms, when the Ukrainian authority has no control over these territories, people live in danger, has no freedom of movement, there are people who left it…There can be no referendum, it will not be legitimate. That is why the US and all others reject the offers of any referendum, the diplomat said.
