You're reading: 2 Ukrainian soldiers wounded amid separatist shelling attacks in Donbas

One Ukrainian soldier of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has been injured and another one received a combat injury due to shelling attacks by illegal armed groups in eastern Ukraine since Tuesday midnight, the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has reported.

“During the current day, as a result of the enemy shelling, one member of the JFO has been wounded, and another received military injuries,” it said.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since Oct. 22 midnight, as of 12.30, militants opened fire five times, including at the site of the disengagement of forces and means in the area of the town of Zolote, Luhansk region.

During the shelling attacks, illegal armed groups used 82mm caliber mortars prohibited by the Minsk agreements, as well as heavy machine guns, an anti-tank missile system, and machine-gun and hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers.
