The Main Military Clinical Hospital in Kyiv has received 24 Ukrainian soldiers released on Dec.27, and doctors estimate their condition as satisfactory.

“24 soldiers expressed a desire to undergo examination and treatment in our military medical facility. Out of 24 patients, 18 were hospitalized in a therapeutic unit and six in a surgical unit. Fortunately, the general condition of all the patients who came for examination and hospitalization in the military hospital is satisfactory, and a routine examination is underway,” Serhiy Prokopchuk, the hospital’s chief GP, said at a briefing on Dec.28.

“We will try to complete the examination of these patients as quickly as possible – in a day or two,” Prokopchuk said.

In turn, the chief surgeon of the hospital, Rostyslav Hibala, noted that some of the six servicemen who entered the surgical department had old fragments of bullets inside, but at the moment none of them needs any surgical intervention.

“An examination will be carried out for a day or two. We will let them go home for the holidays. After spending time with their relatives, they will come back to us for rehabilitation and, if necessary, for surgical treatment,” he said.
