Almost 40 percent of Ukrainians support introducing the visa regime with Russia, according to the results of the Ukraine in Focus survey conducted by the Rating sociological group from May 22 to May 31.

The half of respondents does not support the introduction of the visa regime with Russia, while each tenth respondent does not know what to say.

According to the press release, in the past months the number of supporters of the introduction of the visa regime with Russia has grown. Residents of western regions, residents of rural areas, mainly young people and Svoboda Party electorate mainly support the introduction of the visa regime.

Almost 60 percent of respondents support restricting economic relations with Russia. Some 30 percent of respondents back their expansion or at least no reduction and 15 percent have not yet decided.

The number of supporters of restriction of relations with Russia has increased compared to information from 2016. Mainly residents of eastern and southern regions, aged people and supporters of Za Zhyttia party (For Life) and Opposition Bloc support the retaining or expansion of economic relations with Russia.

Some 3,000 people, aged 18 and older, were questioned face-to-face in the survey. The respondent pool was representative according to age, region and type of residence. The margin of error of the poll was estimated at 1.8 percent.
