You're reading: About 400 civilians killed or injured in hostilities in Donbas since year’s start

Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission (OSCE SMM) monitors report 398 civilians killed and injured in hostilities in Donbas since the beginning of 2017.

As many as 398 civilians were reported killed and injured since this year’s start, OSCE SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug told reporters on October 10.

Their numbers are 16 percent higher than that recorded for the same period in 2016, he said.

As many as 398 civilian casualties are too many. Now it is time for the sides to take advantage of this opportunity and to end this crisis, Hug said.
