Seven departments for treatment of infectious diseases have been determined in Kyiv for hospitalization of patients with coronavirus Covid-19 in case of necessity, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Feb. 28.
“Seven facilities have been determined in the capital for people who might be diagnosed with coronavirus. Three of them are for adults and another three – for children, and a facility for pregnant women. These are the departments of Oleksandrivska Hospital, Kyiv City Hospital No. 4, Kyiv City Hospital No. 9, municipal children’s clinical hospitals Nos. 1 and 2, children’s hospital for infectious diseases, Kyiv City Center for Reproductive and Perinatal Medicine. All of these establishments are provided with necessary personal protection equipment, consumables, disinfectants necessary for rendering medical aid,” he said.
Klitschko also said that two specialized emergency teams have been created in the capital for transportation of patients.
“In general, we have 500 beds, including 237 for adults, 200 for children and the rest for pregnant women. There are 78 isolation wards at the departments for treatment of infectious diseases, the establishments are equipped with lung ventilators,” the mayor said.
Klitschko also said that the personnel is being trained, and additional hospitals have been determined for a case of aggravation of the epidemic situation in the country.
