According to reports, there are currently about 10,000 citizens of Ukraine in China, said Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov.

“Today there are approximately 10,000 of our citizens there [in China]. These are our students, these are people who work in our consular and embassy departments, these are people who work under contracts in China. Today we have established communication with almost everyone, we understand where they are, in what condition they are,” he said on the Ukraina 24 TV channel on Jan. 28 evening.

Danilov noted that “so far, our citizens who are in China have no problems.”

In addition, the NSDC secretary added, if necessary, the authorities will consider the issue of evacuating part of Ukrainian citizens from China.

“But I emphasize once again: if necessary. At present, we do not see such a need,” Danilov added.

According to recent data, at least 106 people died as a result of infection with the virus, 4,603 cases of infection were confirmed in China.
