Discussions on the overcoming the crisis in the east of Ukraine, conducted in the Normandy format (Ukraine, France, Germany, Russia), should lead to concrete results, French ambassador to Ukraine Isabelle Dumont has said.

“France will continue to participate in the Normandy format, but in order to talk about a dynamic or activated dialogue, it is first of all necessary that the discussions on the way out of the crisis lead to concrete results,” Dumont said in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

“I believe that the President of the Republic (French President Emmanuel Macron), accepting President Poroshenko in Paris less than two months after taking his office, demonstrated that he does not intend to turn his back on the Ukrainian issue. He also recalled his commitment to respecting the sovereignty of Ukraine,” the diplomat said.
