Militants have fired on the positions of the Ukrainian military in Donbas 54 times over the past day, the ATO press centre said on its Facebook page on Saturday morning.

“As a result of shelling during the past day, three soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were injured,” a report says.

In the Mariupol sector, the militants shelled the strongholds of the ATO forces in the area of Shyrokyne, Vodiane, Pavlopil, Hranytne, Hnutove, Chermalyk and Novotroyitske. There, the militants mainly used small arms, large-caliber machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems. In some places the enemy’s snipers fired. In addition, the Ukrainian positions at Shyrokyne came under fire from mortars of 82 mm caliber and weapons of the BMP. The enemy fired at the strongholds of the ATO forces from the same weapons in the area of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka. And not far from Talakivka the enemy used artillery systems of 122 mm caliber.

In the Donetsk sector, the enemy fired mortar shells of 82 mm and 120 mm on the positions of the ATO in Novoluhanske and Luhanske regions. The outskirts of Avdiyivka and positions near Kamyanka were struck by 82-mm mortar. The same sectors of the front, as well as strongholds of the ATO forces in the area of Pisky, Verkhniotoretske and Novhorodske were fired on by militants from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

In the Luhansk sector, militants fired from grenade launchers of various systems on Ukrainian military in the vicinity of Novo-Oleksandrivka and Krymske. Near Novozvanivka, militants attacked the ATO positions from large-caliber machine guns, automatic grenade launchers and 120-mm mortars. In the Novotoshkivka area, illegal armed groups used 82-mm mortars, large-caliber machine guns and small arms.
