Austria will be able to accept flights from Ukraine starting from August 1, but passengers will be obliged to show negative tests for COVID-19 and to self-isolate for 10 days, Vienna International Airport has reported.

“The previously introduced ban on flights from a number of countries will expire on July 31. Instead, strict rules of entry will be introduced. On the one hand, this will ensure security, on the other, it will guarantee freedom of movement,” the airport said.

The countries will be divided into three groups. From “safe” states (Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, etc.) one can enter without restrictions. Passengers from other countries will be able to choose between a negative coronavirus test or a 10-day self-isolation.

However, for a number of states there will be no choice; both a COVID-19 test and self-isolation will be required. This list includes Ukraine, China, the United States, the Russian Federation, Belarus and other countries.

The coronavirus test can be taken at Vienna Airport from 7:00 to 20:00 without prior registration. The results will be known in 3-6 hours.
