Avakov meets with Secretary of German Interior Ministry Markus Kerber

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov faces numerous accusations of corruption and other crimes, which he denies. However, he has kept his job and faced no charges since his appointment in February 2014, given that he is arguably the second most powerful person in the country after President Petro Poroshenko.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has held a meeting with Markus Kerber, the Secretary of the Federal Ministry of the Interior of Germany, the minister said on Twitter on October 18 evening.

“Collaboration between migration and police structures (particularly in the field of countering cybercrime) has been discussed with State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs of Germany Markus Kerber. A reliable partnership promises a long history and good prospects,” Avakov said.
