Militants have used Grad rockets during an attack on the old part of Avdiyivka, according to Viacheslav Abroskin, deputy head of Ukraine’s National Police and Donetsk regional police chief.

Grad shells hit house number 96 in Kolosov Street, Abroskin wrote on his Facebook page on May 23. “Luckily, no one was hurt,” he said.

A team of local police investigators is working at the scene.

One man suffered a head injury at number 45 in Lermontov Street, Abroskin said later.

The enemy shelled the private residential sector in Avdiyivka at around 4 p.m. on May 23, the press center for the military operation said on Facebook.

“The attack destroyed a private house and left several others significantly damaged in Lermontov Street. Unfortunately … one civilian was injured,” the statement says.
