The Batkivschyna party would lead in the Verkhovna Rada elections should they be held next Sunday, with almost 7.7% of the Ukrainian population willing to give their support to them, or 11.2% of those who are going to participate in the elections.

These are the results of a nationwide population survey conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation together with the sociological service of the Razumkov Center from June 9 to June 13, 2017 and published in Kyiv on Thursday.

The Batkivschyna party will be followed by the Petro Poroshenko ‘Solidarity’ Bloc with 6.9% of respondents being ready to vote for it, or 9.3% of those who would participate in the elections, while Anatoliy Hrytsenko’s Civil Position Party would get 5.9% and 8.3% respectively, and the Opposition Bloc 5.7% and 8.4%, respectively.

The 5% election threshold would be also conquered by Vadym Rabinovych’s “For the Life” Party (7.7% among those who expressed intention to vote and 5.2% among all respondents, Oleh Liashko’s Radical Party would get 7.3% and 5%, respectively and the Samopomich Union 5.8% and 4.2% respectively.

According to the poll, 4.3% of those who would come to the polls and 2.9% of all those polled would vote for the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Association lead by Oleh Tiahnybok, Mikhail Saakashvili’s Movement of New Forces would be supported by 1.8% of potential voters, Nadiya Savchenko’s Public Platform Party by 1.7% and 1.4%, respectively.

Of all the respondents, 21.5% would not take part in the elections, 17.2% of all the respondents refused to answer who they would vote for, 15.3% of those who said they would take part in the election were also hesitant to name their candidates.

Some 2,018 respondents aged 18 and above have been polled in all regions of Ukraine, except for Crimea and the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.
