An outbreak of bird flu has been recorded at Khutir farm (Vinnytsia region).

According to information posted on the website of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumers’ Rights Protection, the chief state veterinary inspector of Vinnytsia region on Jan. 18, after detecting the death of birds, introduced quarantine at the enterprise for 72 hours until the circumstances of the death and diagnosis were clarified.

“After examining biomaterial samples at the state research institute for laboratory diagnostics and veterinary and biosecurity expertise (Kyiv), bird flu was diagnosed on Jan. 19,” the agency said.

According to preliminary data, as of Jan. 1, some 98,000 birds (the egg direction) were at the Khutir farm.
