An explosion apparently caused by an accident rocked the base of a police battalion in the Prymorsky district of Mariupol, Donetsk region, the Donetsk regional police department reported on Friday.

No reports were made immediately on possible casualties and damage caused by the blast.

Media reported with reference to witnesses that six casualties had been hospitalized and that windows had been smashed in nearby buildings. Interfax-Ukraine could not immediately obtain confirmation of these reports.
