Bloomberg: Fighting rages on in east Ukraine as pleas for truce are ignored

Ukraine said fighting raged on Feb. 3 in the war-torn east as pleas for truce were ignored and death toll in the long-standing conflict rose amid the deadliest flare-up in weeks.

Ukraine said the situation deteriorated overnight and two soldiers were killed as of 8 a.m. on Feb. 3, the military press service said on Facebook. Two civilians were killed late Feb. 2 in the eastern town of Avdiyivka, according to Myhola Checotkin, head of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service.
