The parliamentary faction Bloc of Petro Poroshenko (BPP) at a meeting on October 1, attended by Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, discussed cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, raising the price of gas for the population and financing medicine.

“Volodymyr Groysman and Oksana Markarova attended the meeting of the faction. Now there is a serious set of questions on medicine. We stressed the need to add funds to the medical sector. Groysman supported this,” deputy head of the faction Serhiy Berezenko said.

He said the faction’s dialogue with the prime minister was constructive on the eve of consideration of the draft national budget for 2019 in the committee.

“According to the prime minister, all positions will be agreed, and we will continue the action of the memorandum. This will strengthen our positions in social payments and on the budget,” Berezenko said, speaking about cooperation with the IMF discussed at the meeting.

According to the people’s deputy, Groysman assured the BPP members that the price of gas would not rise by 60 percent.

“This will be a significantly smaller increase with the price difference. The best option would be to consider a gradual increase in the price of gas. But now the issue is within the competence of the government,” he said.
