You're reading: British foreign secretary praises Ukraine’s progress in reforms in past 3 years

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has noted Ukraine’s progress in implementing reforms in the past three years, in particular, in holding public procurement and declaration of incomes by civil servants.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman in London on July 6, the British foreign secretary said Ukraine has achieved surprising progress over the past three years, more than in the previous 23 years, particularly in the areas of public procurement, declaration of incomes of civil servants etc.

Johnson noted that all the participants of the Conference on Reform in Ukraine, which is held in London on July 6, agreed that there is still much to be done for Ukraine, but all of them expressed confidence in Ukraine’s future.

Thus, Johnson refuted the information given earlier by some media about his negative assessment of the success of reforms in Ukraine.
