British-based Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has stated it conducts no investigations against President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
“Against the background of recent speculations, the British Serious Fraud Office confirms it is not conducting investigations against President Poroshenko,” the British Embassy in Ukraine said on Twitter.
On March 23, Yulia Tymoshenko stated that the Cyprus court, British-based Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) had launched investigations against Petro Poroshenko and his entourage.
Subsequently, the election headquarters of the presidential candidate of Ukraine, incumbent head of state Petro Poroshenko said that the information spread by Tymoshenko about the alleged opening of criminal proceedings against Poroshenko by the Cypriot court and a number of European anti-corruption authorities was fake.
