The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Criminal Investigation Office’s Head Serhiy Knyazev to the post of the chief of the National Police.

The corresponding decision was unanimously taken at a cabinet meeting on Feb. 8, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

“I am offering and nominating for your consideration third rank Police General of Ukraine Serhiy Mykolayovych Knyazev for the position of the National Police chief,” Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov said at the meeting.
