You're reading: Cabinet approves draft agreement with Finland on school reform with 6 million funding

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a draft agreement with Finland to support the school reform, which provides technical assistance in the amount of 6 million euro.

This draft agreement stipulates that Finland will help Ukraine improve the qualifications of teachers, emphasize the important role of education for society, and improve the educational environment of schools as part of the reform of the New Ukrainian School, the press service of the Education Ministry, referring to the government’s decision, said on Feb.28.

It is noted that this project will have an estimated cost of 6 million euro and is meant for four years.

By its decision, the Cabinet also delegated the authority to sign the agreement to Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych.

The document must be ratified by the Verkhovna Rada after signing.
