You're reading: Cabinet approves pilot project for electronic registration of residence

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the implementation of a pilot project for the residence, place registration in electronic form for persons over 14 years old.

“This decree is one of the next steps to really simplify the interaction of each citizen and the state. It defines instructions, terms, necessary steps to make this service as simple as possible and become electronic within the next year,” Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said during government meetings on Monday.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, more than 17,000 different unrelated registries were previously created that recorded the place of residence, which significantly complicated the process of registration, re-registration, and deregistration of a place of residence, the Prime Minister said.

As reported, on Oct. 5, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine launched the possibility of registering the place of residence of a child under 14 years old on the Diia e-services web portal.
