Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has recommended parliament review its 2017 budget and to allocate Hr 20 million for financing public joint-stock company Trunk Gas Pipelines of Ukraine (TPU).

The corresponding decision is noted in the government’s draft law No. 6600 registered in the Rada on June 21, 2017.

“It is recommended to review the new budget program, dubbed “State assistance to public joint-stock company TPU with expenditures amounting to Hr 20 million for financing TPU,” the document says.

As earlier reported, the Cabinet on June 14 confirmed the list and plan for transferring material assets of the gas transportation system from public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz to TPU.

TPU is being creating under the unbundling program for national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy.

As per the government decision, property used presently by Ukrtransgaz for the transportation of natural gas must be transferred to TPU within 30 days from the moment the Stockholm Arbitration decision involving the dispute between Naftogaz Ukrainy and Russia’s natural gas monopoly Gazprom on contracts from 2009-2019 takes effect.
