The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine has addressed the Ukrainian president, the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with a resolution seeking to adopt the amendments to the law of Ukraine on public procurement to hold parliamentary elections, the press service of the CEC has reported.

“To ensure proper organization of the preparation and holding of early elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine, on July 21, 2019, the Commission addressed the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the need for the Verkhovna Rada to urgently adopt the law of Ukraine amending the law of Ukraine on public procurement,” the CEC said in a statement.

In addition, the CEC called on the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine to submit proposals to resolve issues of public procurement.

According to the resolution, this decision was made as due to the lack of time the commission is not able to provide preparation and holding of parliamentary elections in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine in the field of public procurement.
