You're reading: Muzhenko and Karoblis discuss participation of Lithuanian instructors in training of Ukrainian troops

Chief of the General Headquarters and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Viktor Muzhenko and Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis have discussed issues of further military cooperation between the two countries at a meeting in Kyiv.

“During the meeting, the two discussed issues of further military cooperation, including Lithuanian Armed Forces instructors’ involvement in the training of Ukrainian servicemen under the program of the Joint Multinational Training Group, in military education, etc.,” the General Staff of the AFU said on Facebook on Monday.

The sides also exchanged views on topical issues of regional security and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Lithuania in the defense sphere, and discussed the situation in eastern Ukraine.

Muzhenko thanked the government and people of Lithuania for the assistance they have provided to Ukraine since Russia unleashed aggression in Donbas.
