Clinton, Trump to debate; warm-up event in Kyiv at 8 tonight on Hromadske TV

Kyivans will have to get up at 4 a.m. on Sept. 27 to watch the live TV coverage of the U.S. presidential debate between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton, the first of their three contests before the Nov. 8 vote.

But political junkies and those just looking for something to do can tune in at 8 p.m. on Sept. 26 Kyiv time to watch Hromadske International livestream debate between American supporters of each candidate. The coverage can be watched online at http://en.hromadske.ua

The debate is co-sponsored by the Kyiv Post, whose chief editor, Brian Bonner, will moderate the 90-minute discussion in the basement of the Golden Gate Pub at 15 Zolotovoritska St.

Democrat Reno Domenico of the American state of New Jersey will take the side of Clinton, while Jonathan Baseland of the American state of Colorado will take the side of Trump.

The debate will be held in an open town-hall style format so that audience members can participate.
