You're reading: Competition agency fines Master Avia, Kyiv airport Hr 2.5 million for concerted actions

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has fined Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport Hr 681,000, as well as Master Avia LLC that manages the airport UAH 1.8 million, for violation of legislation on the protection of economic competition, using anticompetitive concerted actions, the press service of the committee has reported.

Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport is located in the business center of the capital of Ukraine, seven kilometers from the city center. It is the second largest airport in Ukraine in terms of the number of flights and passenger traffic.

The airport has three terminals with a total area being 21,000 square meters. The airport’s runway is able to handle B-737 and A-320 aircraft.

Master-Avia LLC began managing the airport after winning a tender in 2010 and leasing airport property for 49 years.

According to the company, over the period of managing the airport it has invested over $50 million in the creation of new airport’s infrastructure and continues sending all the available resources to repay a loan. Ultimate beneficiaries of the limited liability company are Vasyl Khmelnytsky and Denys Kostrzhevsky.
