You're reading: Constitutional Court starts considering decree on Rada dissolution

The Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine has begun public hearings of the case on a constitutional motion submitted by 62 people’s deputies regarding the constitutionality of a presidential decree on the early termination of the powers of the Verkhovna Rada and the calling of early parliamentary elections.

The meeting is attended by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, MPs from among those who signed the motion, and a representative of the Verkhovna Rada.

On June 4, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized the constitutional proceedings of this case as urgent, that is, the verdict must be given within a month.
